New Zealand Guitar Quartet

The works they chose were varied and accessible, ranging from a Bach Brandenburg Suite to a new piece by New Zealander Kaisa Beech. The audience response to each piece was enormously enthusiastic, and the concert culminated in foot-stomping requests for encores.

After a whirlwind 2011 tour schedule of nearly 20 concerts across the length of the country, the NZGQ is quickly developing a following with invitations to perform both locally and overseas. Highlights for the 2012 season include an up-coming New Zealand premiere of the Rodrigo Guitar Quartet Concerto Andaluz with the Nelson Symphony.
